Fresno Hot For Some JC Transfers. . . Maybe;
But They're Hot For Tark--(May 2,1998)

Expect Shomario Richard (6'-1" So PG/SG) from Chaffey College, who played on the junior college all-star team that lost 123-114 to the college all-star team in Friday's King of the West Classic game at Fresno City College, to sign with the Bulldogs if they offer him a scholarship. "I want to come to Fresno if they want to offer me a scholarship," Richard told the Fresno Bee. "The situation is wonderful. I want to be able to learn from Rafer, who is one of the best point guards in the nation. Bulldogs transfer Courtney Alexander will only make me a better player." Richard also told the Bee he had decided against visiting Idaho and doesn't have any other recruiting visits planned.

Richard's Chaffey teammate Shawn Simmons (6'-8" So. F) who played for the JC team Friday in the King of the West, said he has narrowed his choices to Fresno State and West Virginia. Simmons will visit WV tomorrow for his official visit there.

Shaun Jackson (6'-6" So. SG/SF), who played for the college all-stars Friday, said he'll decide between Long Beach State and Fresno State by next week. Jackson originally signed with Wyoming out of Mater Dei High, played six games and then transferred to UC-Irvine. He never played for the Anteaters and spent the past two seasons at Orange Coast Community College, playing this year.
