Webb Hired
At Chaminade As New A.D.;
Former Pasadena CC Assistant--(April 30,1998)
The LA Times and Daily News have both announced that Rob Webb has been hired as the new Athletic Director at Chaminade (home of J.J. Todd, Scott Borchart, Scott Long, coach Jeff Young, et. al.), and that he will replace Ed Croson, who has resigned to become the Eagle's football coach. Webb had been an assistant basketball coach at Pasadena City College this past season.
And speaking of Pasadena City College, WestCoastHoops is reporting this morning that Nick Gosserand Nick Gosserand (6'-10" Sr. C) from Riverside's J.W. North High School, who is one of the better post players in the senior class, will go the junior college route, and is apparently looking at Pasadena CC, Santa Barbara CC, Trinity CC in Colorado and Hutchison Junior College in Kansas. If he decides to leave the state, we'd bet on Hutchison, which is the perennial NJCAA champion (remember, California JC's do not play for a "National" title, but only a California state championship). Hutchison is also where the championship game in the NJCAA is held each year.
