Releases Junior Bond, And A Flood
Of Other Anteaters--(April 22,1998)
This is not exactly fresh news, but it's still worthy of reporting. Last week, UCI granted guard Junior Bond, who started 22 basketball games for UC Irvine this past season, his release.
Bond, a junior, averaged 5.5 points and had 95 assists in his first season with the Anteaters. He is expected to transfer to Southern California College, where former UCI assistant Cameron Dollar recently was hired as basketball coach.
Bond is the fourth player to leave UCI since the end of the season. Center Andrew Carlson, forward Juma Jackson and guard Lamarr Parker also asked for their releases from their letters of intent.
