Cal Poly SLO News: Signs Grace and Henry--(April 28,1998)

This is stuff from last week, but it's still news nevertheless. Cal Poly San Luis Obispo has signed two players for next season:

James Grace III (6'-5" Sr. F) from MacArthur H.S in San Antonio, Texas, has signed a National Letter of Intent. He averaged 14.9 points per game and 7.0 rebounds per game last season at MacArthur High School, shooting 52.0 percent from the floor and 75 % from the free throw line. He apparently can shoot both left and right handed, and has a huge vertical, which he inherited from his father who competed in track & field at Michigan.

Cal Poly SLO also signed David Henry (6'-7" Sr. F) from Cardinal Newman H.S. in Santa Rosa, California. Henry averaged 17.5 points per game and 9.2 rebounds per game at Cardinal Newman last season, and was named North Bay League Player of the Year. He shot 84 percent at the free throw line, and dished out 5.0 assists per game, remarkable for a forward.
