Orange County Players Being
Recruited, But No Signings Yet--(April 9,1998)
Today's edition of the Orange County Register reports that Santa Margarita's Ryan Forehan-Kelly has been offered a scholarship by UC Riverside but he is waiting until after April 15, according to Eagles coach Jerry DeBusk. We don't know who else is recruiting Ryan, but he's really a terrific player and would do well at a mid to low D-I or at any D-II or III program. While the State Championship game was not his finest, he had a great season for the Eagles.
The Register also reports that Villa Park's Alan Verzani, a second-team All-County selection, and Santa Margarita's Craig Rice both remain unsigned, but they are both being sought by various small college programs. Verzani is being recruited by Humboldt State and UC Riverside, according to Villa Park coach Kevin Reynolds, while Rice is being recruited by Concordia, Westmont College, UC San Diego and Redlands, according to Jerry DeBusk.
