Azzam & Bobich Chosen Westside
Coaches Of The Year By The Times--(April 28,1998)

Westchester head coach Ed Azzam, who led the Comets to their first-ever Division I California State Championship, a City 4-A title, and a CIF Southern Region title, and Pacific Hills Coach John Bobich, who led the Bruins to their 5th CIF Title in the last six years, and a Division V State Championship, were selected as the Los Angeles Times Westside/South Bay Coaches of the Year. The Bruins, based in West Hollywood, finished at 28-7 which included three overtime playoff victories, two of which went three extra overtime periods. This was the second time both coaches have been selected as Coaches of the Year by the Times. Congratulations to Ed and John from SoCalHoops.
