Montgomery Beats Mountain View 63-57--(March 15, 1998)

Santa Rosa Montgomery upset top-ranked Mountain View St. Francis, 63-57, to win the Northern California Regional Division II boys' basketball championship. Montgomery (24-7) took a 17-13 first-quarter lead, but the Lancers (25-8) came back to take a 29-26 halftime advantage. The lead changed hands six times in the fourth quarter. Montgomery's Trevor Lorz scored seven of his 25 points in the last 1 minute 46 seconds. Cinque Carey finished with 29 points for St. Francis. In a battle of 6'-4" senior stars, Lorz beat Cinque Carey when it counted, leading the Vikings to the upset. The game featured six lead changes in the fourth quarter. But Lorz scored seven of his 25 points in the last 1:46.
