CIF State Playoffs: Division IV Brackets:
Southern Region and Northern Region--(March 8, 1998)

Southern California vs. Northern California Champion
Friday 3/20
At ARCO Arena, Sacramento 4:15 p.m.

More brackets. This time both the Southern and Northern brackets for Division IV for the CIF "Arco-AM/PM" State Championship playoffs. Since Arco has paid a whole bunch of money to sponsor these games, it's only fitting that they get the publicity they deserve. Kudos to Arco, and to the Arco-Lod Cook Center for Youth Achievement located in Burbank. Their support of CIF basketball throughout the State this year has been greatly appreciated.

Verbum Dei draws the No. 1 seed in the Region, and they'll play Garces from the Bakersfield-Southern San Joaquin Valley area on Tuesday at Verbum Dei; St. Joseph's Santa Maria will play Lincoln Academy from San Diego, and while we don't know a lot about Lincoln, we've heard they have some really tall players and are extremely talented. In the lower half of the bracket, the No. 2 Seeded team, La Jolla Bishop's will play Santa Ana Calvary Chapel, which lost to St. Joe's in the Division IV-AA Southern Section Final last week. And Serra, the loser to Verbum Dei on Saturday in the Division I-A finals, will play a team from Corcoran in the Central Section which is seeded No. 3.
