Mel Goode Yuba City Tourney:
Upland Wins It--(Dec. 20, 1999)

We obviously weren't up in Yuba City, but some of our friends were, including the guys from Upland High School, who won the tournament. We don't have all of the game details, but we can give you a general overview of what happened and how Upland performed, and which other teams won and lost.  The Championship game in this tournament was played Saturday, December 18, and we just got the report late last night. Here's the recap:

Championship Game
Upland 65 - Berkeley 60-- Sheldon Pace, who was named the MVP of the tournament had 14 ponts and 11 assists in the game. Kirk Snyder, who was selected to the All-Tournament team had 22 points and 12 rebounds.  Prentice Harris had 9 points, 6 steals and got one of those steals with just 30 seconds remaining and Upland holding on to just a two point lead;  he managed to pass up to Pace, who hit a layup which gave Upland the game. Berkeley, which had entered the game with an 8-0 record, including a huge win over defending Division I State Champion Oakland Fremont, played a great game.
