Tustin High School
Coach Resigns--(Dec. 10, 1999)

The Orange County Register reported this morning that Tustin High boys basketball coach Darryl Gabriel has resigned effective Thursday, just two games into his first season with the team.  The paper reported that Gabriel cited "family and personal reasons" for the resignation. Assistant Coach Jeff Aguilar was appointed Interim Coach for the remainder of the season, according to officials at the Tustin Unified School District. Aguilar is a 1994 Tustin graduate, which makes him one of the youngest head coaches in the State.  He previously coached the sophomore team at Tustin where he was a three-year varsity player. Aguilar becomes the fourth varsity basketball coach for Tustin since February. "There is always an ongoing saga with our basketball program," Tustin athletic director Al Rosmino told the Register. "We hope we can still have a positive season."
