November 30 Game Results &
Tournament Scores--(Dec. 1, 1999)
We've tried to get as many of the scores and details of games taking place all over the SoCal area as possible from yesterday, and we think we've gotten most of them. If you know of a score or a result we missed, send us an e-mail, or post it up on the message board. For the tournaments, they're organized alphabetically by the name of the tournament; for non-league games, the best we can do is organize them alphabetically using the first letter of the winning team.

Santa Barbara 81, Lompoc 32--The Dons, who take on top-ranked Mater Dei tonight in the Glendora Triple Crown Challenge, had to rally late to beat Cabrillo 48-45 on Monday. But Tuesday night at Santa Barbara, the Dons went on a rampage, beating Lompoc 81-32 in a Santa Barbara County Tournament game. Brent Williams, who was home sick for the Dons' opener, scored Santa Barbara's first five points and finished as the game's high scorer with 18 despite playing barely more than half the game. Another key player, Dommanic Ingerson, remains sidelined while he awaits word from the CIF on his eligibility. Ingerson, a transfer from Oakland, is supposed to hear today from the CIF on his hardship waiver. But Lavender said a recent change in the star guard's legal guardianship status could make today's ruling moot. Not that the Dons' needed any help Tuesday. A 3-pointer by Fil Curiel and a three-point play by Charlie Peterson helped Santa Barbara build a 18-9 first quarter lead. An 11-0 run early in the second quarter made it 29-11 and spurts of 12-0 in the third and 19-0 in the fourth turned the game into a runaway. Backup point guard Mike Henderson had 10 points and six assists and Curiel added 12 points. Peterson had eight points and nine rebounds. Eleven different Dons scored. Feeding the frenzy of scoring, however, was a smothering Santa Barbara defense which forced 27 turnovers from the Braves -- 15 in the first half. Seven players combined for 15 steals. North Hollywood 56, Santa Clara 49--With a new roster and a new head coach, replacing Lou Cvijanovich, the winningest coach in California history won't be easy. Jason Angel scored 16 points, including three 3-pointers in the second half, and Chris Post tacked on 14 points in the program's first game under new head coach Marty Meyer. North Hollywood's Ken Hauser knocked down a game-high 24 points, including 13 points in the third quarter. Angel, Post and Earl Hall are the only returnees from last year's title winner. Still, Santa Clara shrugged off a cold shooting night (18 of 52) to grab a 24-23 lead at halftime. Then, trailing by six (47-41) with just over four minutes remaining, the Saints rallied. Angel finished off an 8-0 run with a 3-pointer with 2:10 left that gave his club a 49-47 lead.
