Orange Lutheran Tournament Results--(Dec. 6, 1998)
This tournament is also known as the "Lancer Pride Tournament" because it's hosted by the Orange Lutheran Lancers. We didn't know that until this morning when we read the papers. Obviously we haven't been attending these games, but we're reporting on them anyway. Here's the news.
Championship Game:
Garces 91, Orange Lutheran 83--Garces won the Orange Lancer Pride Tournament with a win over Orange Lutheran. Ryan Fox scored 28 points, had 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the rams. He also has scored 78 points in the last three games. Josh Atkins had five assists for Garces, which advanced to the final by winning against Orange (not Orange Lutheran) by a score of 81-69 on Friday. In that one, Orange guard Steven Miller scored 24 points
Third Place Game:
Orange 80, Anaheim 45-- The Panthers (3-1) earned an easy victory over the Colonists (1-2) in the third-place game of the Lancer Pride Invitational. Steven Miller scored 20 points and had five assists for Orange, and forward Mike Garcia added 12 rebounds.
Other previous results in this tournament:
Anaheim 100, Southern California Christian 32-- We're
pretty sure we already reported this one, but if you didn't catch it, here it is again,
from the pool play round earlier in the week. Jelani Parham scored 20 points to pace
Anaheim in this pool play game.
Orange Lutheran 85, South Bay Lutheran 42: The Lancers (2-0), hosts of the "Lancer
Pride Invitational" otherwise known as the Orange Lutheran Tournament, managed to get
nine rebounds from Chad Kasha in the victory. We're sure there were some other
highlights, but since we didn't get the box, that's all that was reported.
