Orange Lutheran Tournament Results--(Dec. 4, 1998)
Orange 89, South Bay Lutheran 41-- The Panthers led
by a score of 28-0 after the first period and ended up routing South Bay Lutheran, 89-41,
in the Orange Lutheran Tournament. The Orange Panthers improved to 2-0 by
winning the first round pool-play game at the Orange Lutheran Tournament. Orange led 52-15
at the half, and maybe they were taking notes from Venice's game agaisnt SOCES. Steve
Miller and Lee Lillard each scored 18 points for Orange. Miller added seven rebounds and
four assists, while Lillard grabbed nine rebounds. Mike Garcia of Orange recorded a
double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds. Orange will play Graces of Bakersfield
tonight.
Orange Lutheran 107, SCC 37-- The Lancers scored 40 points in the first quarter as
they extinguished the Flames. Jason Whieldon led five players who scored in double figures
for Orange Lutheran (1-0) with 20 points. Whieldon scored 16 of his points in the first
period. Patrick Salyer contributed 17 points and Mike Bristol 15 for the Lancers. Chad
Kasaha threw in 12 points and Ryan Ackerman tossed in 10.
La Sierra AC 57, Heritage Christian 34--La Sierra managed to win the fifth place game yesterday, outscoring Heritage Christian 11-9, 15-9, 11-9, and 20-7 by quarters, as Warner scored 14 for La Sierra, including 4 three pointers.
