Nordhoff Tournament: Littlerock Wins In Final--(Dec. 6, 1998)
Championship Game:
Littlerock 74, Channel Islands 69--Jerome Holyfield and Gene Myvett scored all nine of Littlerock's points in overtime and the Lobos won the Nordhoff tournament title. Holyfield, who finished with 12 points, including five in overtime, hit a three-point shot to break a 69-69 tie with 40 seconds left. He followed with a steal on Channel Islands' ensuing possession and hit an uncontested layup. Myvett, the tournament most valuable player, had 26 points.
Third Place Game:
Nordhoff 55, Hueneme 48--Andy Flores had 22 points
and 10 rebounds, and Etienne Emanuel had 11 points to help the Rangers
take third place in the Nordhoff tournament.
Fifth Place Game:
South Pasadena 55, Paraclete 54--Justin Lee hit an eight-foot follow shot at the buzzer to give the Tigers (2-2) fifth place in the Nordhoff tournament. Glenn Jones played on a sprained right ankle but he had 18 points for Paraclete (1-2).
