Selected Highlights From This Week--(Dec. 4, 1998)
We're a bit late in reporting some of these, but hey, better late than never.
Loara Tournament (National Sports Grill Tourney)
Servite 52, St. Paul 45--The Swordsmen (0-2) couldn't overcome 18 turnovers despite 15 points and nine rebounds from senior center Chris Landrum in a consolation-round loss to the Friars (1-1) at Servite High. Freshman guard Dantay Holloway also had 12 points for St. Paul which played Thursday at Loara High against the loser of the Sunny Hills/La Quinta match-up at 4:30 p.m.

Brethren Christian 57, Salesian 51--Host Brethren Christian got 19 points and 11
rebounds from senior forward Joe Gaynor and 13 points and seven assists from junior guard
Lee Mamaradlo in their pool play victory over Salesian.
NON-LEAGUE Late Tuesday's result
Long Beach Jordan 65, Washington 45--Panther senior forward Darren Peterson had 18
points and 10 rebounds while junior forward Tranvon Bryant scored 12 points to go along
with 15 rebounds to help the Panthers improve to 2-0 with a win over the LA Washington
Generals at Jordan High.
BIG DAY: Scottie Stern (6'-4" Jr. SG/SF) who transferred to LA High this fall, had a big game against LACES earlier this week, as the Romans beat LACES on Tuesday 75-71, and Stern recorded a triple double, scoring 41 points and dishing out 11 assists while grabbing 13 rebounds. And he very nearly turned it into a quadruple double, getting another 6 steals. Brian Segbefia scored 11 ponts and had 13 assists in the win.
