Schea Cotton Continues To Impress
Scouts, Both Pro & College--(Dec. 10, 1998)

Schea Cotton continues to impress college and pro scouts with the level of his game, and he did it again this past Saturday night at the Orange Coast/Kiwanis Tournament, yet another JUCO tournament featuring local teams.  Cotton   scored 32 points in Long Beach City College's 75-60 victory over Orange Coast College in the championship final of the Orange Coast/Kiwanis men's basketball tournament Saturday. 

The Orange Coast Pirates (5-3) trailed by as many as 15 during the game, but cut the lead to one on one of three of David Castleton's three-pointers with 4:30 remaining.  The Vikings (11-0), behind Cotton's great foul shooting, 15 of 16  went on a 19-5 run to shut the door once and for all.   Cotton was named tournament MVP.  Castleton was the leading scorer for OCC with 13 points. Carlos Reyes, Dave Elliott and Anthony Cooper each scored 10 points.
