7th Annual Wooden Classic
To Be Held Dec. 2, 2000--(Nov. 29, 1999)

We received quite a bit of e-mail about the Wooden Classic piece we posted yesterday, and we're glad it wasn't just we who were confused. But apparently there is no need for confusion, and even though there was no mention made of the 7th Annual John R. Wooden Classic on Saturday or in the program materials, we've been assured by those who are in a position to know that such an event will indeed be taking place, and in fact it will be taking place at the Pond for yet another five years. Good to know.

The teams participating next year?

Even though Atherton Communications has not yet announced it, we have it on pretty good authority that the teams will be USC v. Utah, and UCLA vs. Georgia Tech. The event will be held on December 2, 2000 at the Pond.

So it looks like both Southern California and Indiana get their piece of tradition and history: The 7th Annual John R. Wooden Classic here in SoCal, and the 1st Annual Wooden Tradition games at Purdue.

At least we won't have to move now. . . but we may still buy some tickets to attend the event in Indiana.
