UCLA To Host Annual
"Preview Day" Tomorrow--(Nov. 5, 1999)

Tomorrow is UCLA's annual "Preview Day", the afternoon substitute for Midnight Madness. The event starts at 4:00 p.m. at Pauley Pavilion. Here's the official press release from the UCLA Athletic's Office:

LOS ANGELES - The nationally-ranked UCLA men's and women's basketball teams will hold their annual "Preview Day" on Saturday, Nov. 6 at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion at 4:00 pm.

Spectators will be treated to scrimmages and a Coaches' "Chalk Talk" from men's head coach Steve Lavin and women's head coach Kathy Olivier, as well as a men's slam-dunk contest and a co-ed three-point shooting contest. Fans will also have an opportunity to win prizes in various contests and to obtain autographs following the festivities.

The UCLA men feature junior co-captain and team leader Earl Watson and McDonald's High School All-American Jason Kapono. The UCLA women feature pre-season Naismith Player of the Year candidate Maylana Martin and Gatorade National High School Player of the Year Nicole Kaczmarski. Tickets cost $5 and can be purchased at the UCLA Central Ticket Office (310/UCLA-WIN).

The Bruins first exhibition game of the season will take place this coming Wednesday, November 10 at 7:30 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion, when the UCLA men's basketball team will play Kraitene, a club team from Marijampole, Lithuania. Kraitene replaces the Chinese National Team which had been previously scheduled but dropped out.
