James Cady Signs With
Cal Poly Pomona Today--(Nov. 17, 1999)
We got a letter from one of our fans in the Bakersfield area today alerting us to some news about one of SoCalHoops' top listed power forwards, James Cady (6'-10" Sr. PF) from Stockdale HS and the fact that he will be signing a National Letter of Intent today with Cal Poly Pomona. The Bakersfield Californian also had a small blurb on the subject, and here's what they said about Cady's signing (even though they got his height wrong, it's still informative):
Cady, a 6-8 center, will sign a national letter of intent to play basketball at Cal Poly Pomona next year today at a signing ceremony at school. Cady started out coming off the bench last year behind starter Bryson Gholston, but came strong midway through the league season. "Pomona liked his size and his work ethic and the potential they see down the road," Stockdale coach Dean Andrea said. "He plays very well with his back to the basket. He's a big man and I think he knows his role as a big man and knows how to finish."
This is a good signing for Pomona, which lately has picked up several good players, including Jeremiah Turner (6'-7" Fr. SF) from Sylmar's team last season. Head coach Tim Rapp is doing a great job scouring the region for good players, and Cady is a very nice get who should be able to come in and be an impact player by at least his sophomore year.
