Alaska's Kyle Bailey Verbals
To Santa Clara--(Nov. 1, 1999)
Russ Blake at Insider's Report is reporting that Kyle Bailey (6'-2" Sr. SG) from Lathrop HS in Fairbanks, Alaska, one of our favorite players this summer, has committed to Santa Clara, which he visited in October. According to Blake, Bailey turned down Pepperdine and Idaho State. We saw Bailey quite a bit this summer, at the Pump West Coast All-Star camp, and got to know him a bit. He was one of the true sensations of the Pump Camps, a virtual unknown who literally exploded this summer. Following the WC All-Star camps, Kyle played with Nelson Washington's Bay Area Ballers, and he was one of the leading scorers at the big tournaments this summer, attracting a lot of attention from a number of schools. He's a very quick, tough finisher and can play either the one, two or even the three if necessary. We'd project him actually at the two spot for Santa Clara, and he'll be a major impact player. This is a very good get for Santa Clara.
