Wayne Bernard Of Horizon Signs With Davidson--(Nov. 21, 1998)
Wayne Bernard (6'-5" Sr. PG/SG/SF) from San Diego Horizon, the top rated team according to the San Diego Union-Tribune's preseason poll, has signed a National Letter of Intent with Davidson University in North Carolina. He wrote to us this afternoon to let us know, saying:
I wasn't planning on signing until the spring, but changed my mind at the last minute. Davidson is one of the top ranked academic schools in the U.S. and I thought it would be the perfect place for me to pursue my interests in economics and computer science. I really enjoyed my visit there in October and was very impressed with everything about the school. Coach Bob McKillop is a great coach and really cares about his players. Davidson expects to again win the Southern Conference championship this year and go on to the NCAA Tournament. My goal when I get there in 1999 is to do my part to take them to the Sweet Sixteen."
Wayne said he is looking forward to the season now that he has the signing out of the way. Horizon will take on USDHS (ranked #2 by the Union-Tribune) next week.
Congratulations to Wayne and to Davidson University from SoCalHoops.
