When:  December 8, 9, 10 & 12, 1998

This is going to be a great tournament, featuring teams from both LA City Section and Southern Section, including Dorsey, Rancho Cucamonga, Temple City, Valley View, Garey, LA Locke, Palm Springs, and Upland.   Each team will play three games in pool play and then the winners of each pool will play for the championship on December 12.

We don't know a lot about most of these teams, but we do know something about Palm Springs and Upland.  Palm Springs has some very good players, including Paul Barton, the son of coach Barton, while Upland is just loaded this year, featuring players like Steve Hamilton (6'-11" Sr. C) who has signed with Portland State, Desmond Penigar (6'-5" Sr. G/F), Matt Santos (5'-10" Sr. G), Demarcus Williams (6'-7" Jr. C) and others.  Santos and Penigar were named to the 1998 dada Fall Hoops Classic All-Tournament Team, and DeMarcus Williams was selected to the "Top 18 Juniors" at the second session of the Double Pump West Coast All Stars Camp. There should be some great action, and we've heard good things about Dorsey and Locke too, so be sure to at least catch a few of these games.

"In case of a tie head to head competition will be the tie breaker. A three way tie will be decided by the number of quarters won......then head to head competition if needed. *** The team that is mentioned first will be the "Home Team". The "Home Team" will wear white or light colored jersey. Please bring both sets of uniforms......you never know."
