Reminder: Puerto Rico Shootout
(& UCLA) Schedule--(Nov. 24, 1998)
The Puerto Rico Shootout will get underway on Thursday, and we've gotten several requests for information on the schedules and which games will be televised, particularly UCLA's games. Here's what we found from UCLA's offcial press release on the tournament:
Game Schedule:
Thursday's first round games (all Puerto Rico time, four hours ahead of PST):
Xavier vs. Pittsburgh, noon;
Kentucky vs. Colorado, 2:30 p.m;
Maryland vs. American-Puerto Rico, 5 p.m
UCLA vs. San Francisco, 7:30 p.m.
Friday's schedule is:
Winners, Game one vs. Game two,noon (ESPN2);
Winners, Game three vs. Game four, 2:30 p.m. (ESPN2);
Losers, Game one vs. Game two, 5 p.m.
Losers, Game three vs. Game four, 7:30 p.m.
Saturday:
Seventh-place game, noon;
Fifth-place game, 2:30 p.m.;
Third-place game, 5 p.m.
Championship, 7:30 p.m. (ESPN2).
We don't know of any other television for the tournament, unless you've got some basketball satellite-dish contract. As for radio broadcasts of those games not televised, the Bruins first round game will be on 1150 AM (Radio-XTRA 1150AM with Chris Roberts) here in Los Angeles. We would assume (but don't take our word for it) that the games will be broadcast on the internet live as well.
