USC Gets Verbal From Luke Minor--(Nov. 2, 1998)

Bibby finally caught the big one, as he got a verbal commitment from Luke Minor (7'-3" Sr. C) from Blue Ridge Academy in Dyke, Virginia, as his official visit was concluding last night.  Minor is a huge pickup for the Trojans, in more ways than one, because he's their last commitment for the year, after the Trojans accepted a verbal from Nate Hair (6'-4" Sr. SG/SF) of Capistrano Valley High at the end of the summer evaluation period.  Minor is pretty thin, runs the floor well, but not especially fast, and isn't real quick, but he does have great shot-blocking potential and is an excellent rebounder, which is just what you'd expect from a guy who is 7'-3".  Minor also took official visits to Oregon and Kansas State, and so far, along with Gilbert Arenas, he's the second player this year to spurn K-State for the Pac-10.
