Joe Shipp Still Uncommitted:
Michigan & Arizona Calling--(Nov. 17, 1998)

Looks like Arizona and Lute aren't done recruiting for the year yet.  Joe Shipp (6'-5" Sr. SG/SF) from Fairfax told us tonight that he will wait until the spring to sign, but he also told us that Michgan and Arizona recently contacted him and it appears they will both be getting involved.  In addition, Joe is being pursued by Pepperdine, and was at their Midnight Madness last month, and by Vanderbilt, who offered him an official visit.

Hmm.  Maybe with the dropping of Donnell Harris from the team and the concomittant opening up of another scholarship, Arizona isn't done yet. It would be great to see Joe and Gilbert Arenas and Jason Gardner all on the same team.  And don't count the Wolverines out either.  We always thought that Joe, a big, strong guard, would have been a top 5 player had it not been for his season-ending leg injury last year, but he proved that he was back this summer in a big way.
