Signing Day I: Top 10 Outrageous Predictions--(Nov. 11, 1998)

Is it April 1st yet?

No?  Well we've got some predictions anyway.  And if they turn out wrong,  just pretend it's November Fool's Day.

10. Kareem Rush will sign with UCLA.

9. Carlos Boozer will sign with UCLA.   It may not be until spring, but he will sign with UCLA.

8. Justin Davis will not sign with UCLA.   And he probably won't end up back at Cal either.  We hear that his trip last weekend to UCLA wasn't everything that he expected. Maybe he was talking with another prominent NorCal player. . .

7. Tito Maddox will sign with ASU.   Really.

6. Mike Dunleavy Jr. will sign with UNC, although he really should go to Stanford.

5. Dalron Johnson will sign with UNLV, although we think the Bears sure could use him.

4. And if Dalron doesn't sign with UNLV, then look for Noel Felix to become a Rebel.

3.  Jason Kapono will wind up at Missouri with Josh Kroenke, but not until the spring,

2.  Casey Jacobsen (Stanford), Gilbert Arenas (Arizona), Curtis Borchardt (Stanford), Julius Barnes (Stanford), Shantay Legans (Cal), Nick VanderLaan (Cal), Brian Wethers (Cal), Joe Kirchofer (Stanford), Koko Archibong (Penn), Stanley Thorne (LMU), Marquis Poole (Washington State), Chris Clark (UC Riverside), Rafael Berumen (N. Mexico), Nate Hair (USC), J.J. Sola (LMU),  and anyone else who has ever played with, against,  or near a Rockfish player, will sign a national letter of intent this fall;

and (drumroll. . . . . )

1. Leon Smith will go pro.  Sooner than you think.
