Coupe Taylor Is A Hornet: Signs With
Alabama State--(Nov. 13, 1998)

Coupe Taylor (6'-0" Sr. PG) from Fresno's Washington Union High, has signed a National Letter of Intent with Alabama State. He will join former Washington Union teammate Richard Milsap (6'-6" Fr. F).  Coupe was out for most of the summer with an infection in his foot, but he's come back stronger, more solid and in better shape than at the end of last season. He averaged about 27 points per game last season, and we earlier predicted (well, ok, Vonn Webb told us so) that he'd sign with Alabama State.  Coupe has great court vision, a nice handle and can run the floor very well.  And since he's already fully qualified he will certainly be an impact player next season, and a definite team leader at Washington Union this season.   Congratulations to the Hornets and coach Rob Spivery at Alabama State.
