49'ers In Pursuit Of "Big
House"
Player Roberts--(Oct. 14, 1999)
According to Russ Blake at Insider's Report, Kevin Roberts (6'-5" Sr. SF) from Casa Grande H.S. in Petaluma, Calif., will make an official visit to Long Beach State next weekend (not this, but next), Oct. 22-24. Blake writes that "According to his mom Carol, Kevin is alo being recruited by Washington State and St. Mary's. He has already visited St. Mary's unofficially, and may take a trip to Pullman in early November. Roberts is not sure if he will sign early, but he has already met NCAA minimum standards for freshman eligibility, his mom said. As a junior at Casa Grande, he averaged 18 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and three blocks per game."
This would be a very good pickup for Long Beach State since they will need someone to replace D'Cean Bryant next season at the small forward spot, but then there's no shortage of good, small forwards in the senior class at the mid-major level who will be available well into the spring.
