Jared Jeffries To Visit USC
This Weekend--(Oct. 1, 1999)

Jared Jeffries (6'-9" Sr. PF) from Bloomington, Indiana, will take an official visit to USC this weekend. Jeffries appears close to making a commitment to the Trojans, but is still considering Duke, Iowa, Indiana and Notre Dame. He is scheduled to make a visit to Duke for their Midnight Madness and may also visit Florida State. He has told several people that he is looking for somewhere close to home so that his family can attend games, but personally, we doubt that Indiana and Bobby Knight will succeed, even if his friend and top recruit AJ Moye (6'-5" Sr. SG/SF) from Atlanta, GA has been telling Clark Francis of the HoopScoop for the past two years that he and Jeffries will attend the same school (Moye has told Francis several times that Indiana is the definite leader for his services, most recently at the Charlie Weber Tournament). Most recently at the Weber Invitational, Moye told Francis that eh and Jeffries plan to talk on October 25th and finalize their decisions, which will made official on November 1st. Moye also told Francis that Jeffries "already knows what he wants to do - he's just waiting to take all his visits."

This past summer, Frank Burlison reported that he thought Jeffries was one of, if not the best player overall at this year's Nike Camp in Indianapolis. Unfortunately for those of us who weren't there, and who didn't get to see him, we'll just have to rely on second-hand reports. Or go hang around the gym at USC this weekend.

Herve Lamizana (6'-9" Sr. F) from St. Patrick HS in New Jersey is up for a visit next weekend. More on that later.
