Gregg Gottlieb Named Director Of
BBall Ops At SDSU--(Oct. 16, 1999)

Gregg Gottlieb. an assistant coahc at Sacramento State for the past two years, has been named Director of Basketball Operations by San Diego State Head Coach Steve Fisher. The job will be his third NCAA D-I coaching position;  he started as a graduate assistant, a position he held for two seasons at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo under head coach Jeff Schneider before taking the Sacramento position. 

Gregg played two years at Drake University for coach Rudy Washington, and finished his degree work at UCLA.  As a high school player, he was a two-year All-League point guard at El Modena HS in Orange County, where he averaged 19 ppg during his senior season.  Gregg is the son of Bob Gottlieb, who runs the Branch West Basketball Academy, coaches the BWBA travel teams and assists high school seniors in the recruiting process. Gregg is the older brother of Doug Gottlieb (6'-0" Sr. PG) at Oklahoma State.  Doug led the nation last year in assists at more than 8.0 per game.
