LA City Section Frosh-Soph
Season Schedules--(Oct. 1, 1999)

In case you thought there was no basketball happening right now, think again.  In their infinite wisdom, the LA City Section administrators decided several years ago (right about the time they dropped the "exponent" system which had "Cee" and "Bee" teams in addition to jv and varsity, but that's a whole different story) that fall would be the perfect time for basketball and lots of it, and so they decided to have Frosh-Soph basketball during the fall, before the varsity and jv season begins.

Fortunately, we've managed to get hold of the LA City Section Frosh Soph schedules for all the leagues.  Don't expect us to try to keep up with results, but some of these games might be worth checking out to get a glimpse of some of the younger players who in a year or two will be moving up to varsity level (a player who plays frosh-soph right now cannot move up to varsity at the end of the frosh-soph season, but has to wait another year, because he's already played a "season of sport", at least that's how the rule was explained to us a while ago).

Here are the schedules for LA City Section Frosh-Soph teams, arranged by league.  However, please don't rely on this schedule--call the school first to be certain a game is still scheduled for the time and date listed before making the drive; if you don't confirm prior to going and the game's been moved, switched to another gym, or a different time, don't blame us. . . we warned you.  The season is already about half over, but the last games aren't scheduled until early November so there's still more than a month to check out the younger guys.  

We've reproduced the complete schedules below, organized by league. We'll also be compiling a master schedule, organized by date, so you'll be able to see at a glance, what's happening for the remainder of the season.  

Coliseum League
Crenshaw, Dorsey, Fremont, Jefferson, Locke, Manual Arts

Eastern League
Bell, Elizabeth, Garfield, Huntington Park, Jordan, Roosevelt, South Gate

Marine League
Banning, Carson, Gardena, Narbonne, San Pedro, Washington

Mission Valley League
Kennedy, Monroe, Reseda, San Fernando, SOCES, Sylmar, Van Nuys

Northern League
Belmont, Eagle Rock, Franklin, Lincoln, Marshall, Wilson

Western League
Fairfax, Hamilton, Los Angeles, Palisades, University, Venice, Westchester

West Valley League:
Birmingham, Chatsworth, Cleveland, El Camino Real, Granada Hills, Taft

Sunset Six League
