More News From The 'Shaw:
Ryan Sims Is A Busy Guy--(Oct. 2, 1998)
Ryan Sims (6'-8" Sr. C) from Crenshaw High is a really busy guy, trying to set up and arrange home visits and official visits at several schools, and he's had some major interest from Eddie Hill at San Jose State, from Sacramento State (think of Ryan and Bo Segeberg on the same squad. . . scary), from Morehouse State, and even some attention from Stanford and Kentucky. Ryan is the other third of the triple towers at Crenshaw (Armand Thomas and Shaun Hemsley are the other two-thirds), and Ryan would be a big time pickup for any of these programs. Ryan is an exceptional athlete, who runs extremely well, and is a very active player. Can block out and post up well, and has great potential to develop even further. The best part of Ryan's game is that it's still developing. He's also arranging an official visit at Pepperdine (now imagine Ryan and Armand Thomas playing together there, and that's an even scarier prospect). If he decides to stay close to home, we'd put our money on Pepperdine if Romar offers, and if he decides to go away for school, it's pretty much wide open. Ryan will most likely wait until the spring to sign. "I'll sign after we win the LA City Championship and the State Championship," he told us. Oh, did we mention, Ryan is also really humble. :-0).
