Mar'Quis Poole Commits
To Washington State--(Oct. 13, 1998)

We just spoke with Dominic Street the head coach at Compton Centennial High, and he let us know that Marquis Poole (6'-2" Sr. PG/SG) has given a verbal committment to Washington State. Others who were recruiting Marquis included Utah, Oregon, Oregon State, Arizona State and UConn. We expect that he will be a qualifier as he's got the grades; he's only taken the PSAT, and his score would project him scoring high enough to meet the NCAA D-I guidelines.

This is a very good pickup for WSU as Marquis is a great point with an excellent handle, nice passing skills and he can penetrate and drive to the hole really well. We've seen Marquis take a defender off the dribble on isolation, and he's also pretty good at pushing the break. He's a playmaker type, who likes to make others on his team look better.
