Kareem Rush Reportedly Commits To
UCLA;
Justin Davis Will Visit--(Oct. 27, 1998)
In a cameo appearance at WestCoastHoops, Michael Miller, noted screenwriter and producer, who also knows a thing or two about basketball, is reporting that Kareem Rush (6'-5" Sr. SG/SF) from Kansas City, Missouri's Pembroke Academy, and the brother of current UCLA freshman JaRon Rush, has verbally committed to UCLA . Kareem is a great shooter, a tremendous athlete, and frankly from our point of view, it doesn't matter whether he's better than JaRon or not, because he'll still be an immediate impact player at UCLA next year. And, as Michael also notes, he's a "quick, speedy leaper with a very nice J out to 3-point range." We agree. A great pickup for the Bruins.
Now, if the Bruins can just get Justin Davis (wait, did we say that. . . we're Cal grads, for goodness sakes) And according Mike again, Justin Davis will be taking an official (expenses paid) vist to UCLA within the next two weeks. UCLA has actually been working on getting Justin for a while, and we happen to know that when the coaches were out watching Carlos Boozer at the Las Vegas Big Time and the Double Pump Best of Summer, they were secretly slipping out to run over to Long Beach State to watch Justin at the Slam-N-Jam NIT. :-) We'll see what happens, but the way things are going right now, we wouldn't be surprised if Justin said adios to the Bay Area and hooray for Hollywood.
