Jason Kapono Update: It's
Orange For Halloween--(Oct. 30, 1998)

Jason Kapono (6'-8" Sr. G/F) from Artesia High, will be on campus at UNLV this weekend; from there, he will visit Missour this coming Monday, and then will take a visit to the Orangemen next Friday. Ok, so it's a week after Halloween, but Orange still is a popular color.  Jason reportedly has already visited Rhode Island, and claims he won't sign until the spring, and if that's what he says, we believe it.  Nevertheless, we're pretty sure that Bill Bayno will do his best to persuade Jason to come to Vegas.  Frankly, we think UNLV is sort of a stretch for Jason when it comes to playing time, as they already have Shawn Marion, who at 6'-7" is a scoring threat in the same way Jason is right now, and he would be a senior next year. In addition, the Runnin' Rebels also have Kaspars Kambala at 6'-9", last year's WAC player of the year in the Mountain Division, and they've got two 6'-7" freshmen this year, Chris Richardson and Matt Siebrandt.   And, if what Dalron Johnson (6'-9" Sr. F/C) from Verbum Dei, has said thus far amounts to anything, he's favoring UNLV over Cal

Now Syracuse and Tony Bland. . . there's something interesting.
