Cypress College Fall High
School League--(Oct. 14, 1998)
We hear that besides ARC, which plays it's games on Sundays in the Valley, there is another fall high school league this year, and the reason we probably didn't hear about it sooner is because this is the first year the league is running. It's at Cypress College, with games played in the men's gym on Saturdays only, and it features some great high school teams from all over the area, mostly the Southern LA, Long Beach and Northern Orange County areas. Teams like Artesia, Long Beach Poly, Woodbridge, Anaheim Canyon, Servite, and many others. We also hear that the games are played all day Saturdays, starting at about 9:00 a.m. and they run until about 6:00 p.m. But apparently the "top" games are scheduled between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Next week look for Mayfair to play Woodbridge at 3:00 p.m. and Artesia to play sometime between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. If we can get hold of a schedule, we'll post it up. But if you like being spontaneous, and just want to see great hoops and don't know what to do with yourself now that the NBA is dead (at least for a while) head over to Cypress College. You won't be disappointed. And let us all know what you saw, we'll be interested in hearing about it.
