Mr. Thomas Goes To Washington. . .
For A Visit; Johnson Stays Put--(Oct. 2, 1998)

Armand Thomas (6'-8" Sr. C/PF) tells us that he'll be going to Washington State within the next week or two on an official visit.  Armand is also looking hard at Pepperdine and the looks are being reciprocated by Lorenzo Romar, and Armand will also take a visit to Malibu in the next week, but it will probably be an unofficial visit.  Lastly, bringing up the rear is Rutgers, and they will be taking a home visit with Armand in the next few weeks. He really has no idea which one is the front-runner at this time, and it's possible that he'll wait until the spring to sign, especially if more schools get involved.

Armand also told us that the team is looking really great, and that Tommy Johnson (6'-4" Sr. SG) has definitely not transferred back to Fairfax and will stay at Crenshaw. "We're loaded this year, and there are some new young guys who will show up during the tryouts, and a few of them could make it," Armand said.

Finally, we didn't hear this from Armand, but from several other sources who are dialed in to Crenshaw, it looks like Jamal Walls (6'-7" Fr. F) who had, last we heard, enrolled at Tustin, was looking to enroll over at the "Shaw.   Er, um, ok.
