Lost & Found: Dave Wexler
Resurfaces--(Sept. 14, 1999)
Many people know about David Wexler, as one of the top personal coaches and trainers in SoCal. The only problem with Dave, at least for the past two years, is that no one could locate him. Reportedly he moved to New York (for reasons unknown) and no one knew how to reach him, at least no one we knew. We've had many parents, players & other coaches over the course of the last two year looking for Dave.
Well, he's now been located. We've heard from the Rockfish guys (Mark Mayemura and Dave Benezra) that Wexler is back in town again, and he's in business, ready to attend to private training and personal coaching for young basketball players. Wexler is an excellent coach, an individual trainer who can get very tangible results in a relatively short time. If people want to contact him they can call the Rockfish guys, Dave Benezra or Mark Mayemura, at their Recruiting USA number, (818) 783-2244 and they will pass their number on to him (apparently, he's currently staying with friends and does not want them to be deluged with calls for him). Of course, while you're talking to Mark and/or Dave, you can also get current information on the latest Rockfish "open gyms" at Hollywood High (which were inadvertently cancelled last weekend due to a fire in the gym there) and you can also find out about the exhibition "evaluation" gym sessions for the Rockfish Team players at LACC, which are open to college coaches (actually both gyms are open to college coaches during the NCAA open evaluation period).
