Some Additional HS
Transfers We Missed--(Sept. 16, 1999)

Earlier this week we compiled a long list of guys who have transferred among and between various SoCal high schools. Well, we missed three, and on one, we have a correction.

One of the transfers we missed was Curtis Levine (6'-0" Sr. PG/SG) who has returned to play at Brea Olinda, according to coach Bob Terry.   Levine enrolled at Brea as a freshman, then played the last two seasons at Sonora, where he hit 73 three-pointers. Levine was a First-Team All-Freeway League selection last season.

And Heritage Christian coach Mark Berokoff (who also coaches with Rockfish) let us know that he also has two new transfers, Ryan Meyer (6'-1" Sr. SG/PG) and Jason Grier (6'-2" Sr. SG) both from Kennedy in Orange County, where they both started last season.  With the addition of  Matt Winter (6'-1" Sr. PG/SG), and the rest of the starters at Heritage from a team that went 16-10 last season, this could be one of the best teams ever at the samll Christian school.

And, finally, as Frank Burlison noted in his column this week, Quinn Hawking, the junior guard, (and son of Cal State Fullerton Coach Bob Hawking), has transferred from Sonora to El Dorado, not Canyon as previously reported.
