MATER DEIS BOZEMAN COMMITS
JUNIOR GUARD CEDRIC BOZEMAN VERBALLY COMMITS TO THE
SANTA ANA, CA September 3, 1999 Mater Dei High School is proud to announce the verbal commitment of Cedric Bozeman to attend UCLA following his senior year. Bozeman will play basketball at the Pacific Athletic Conference [sic], NCAA Division I school. Bozeman will be a junior at the Serra League school this year.
Bozeman, the team's captain, has enjoyed great success at Mater Dei over the past two years. His teams have won a Southern Section CIF Division I title and Southern Section Regional Championship. Much of the California State Finalist team of a year ago is still intact, with a few newcomers expected to contribute.
Cedric told his father, Rudy, while watching a Mater Dei-Crenshaw game in 1992 that he wanted to go to Mater Dei to play high school basketball. His recent verbal commitment to UCLA completes his dream of continuing to play basketball in Southern California at the collegiate level. "I am excited for this great opportunity to stay at home and play at UCLA," said Bozeman Friday. Mater Dei Coach Gary McKnight said of Bozeman, "Certainly one of the most special student-athletes we have ever had here. Success will follow him wherever his career takes him."
