Travon Bryant Reportedly
Offered By UCLA?--(Aug. 5, 1999)
We received word today from a very reliable source that UCLA's recruitment of Travon Bryant (6'-8" Sr. PF) Long Beach Jordan, has stepped up to the point that he's been offered a scholarship by the Bruins. According to our source, Travon is not yet close to making a decision about where to attend college, and he is also reportedly considering Kansas (which has also apparently offered), as well as Cincinnati, UConn, Missouri and a host of other schools. We haven't spoken to Travon to confirm his interest in the Bruins, but our source tells us that he's very interested. However, without confirmation from Travon, understand that this report is really just speculation at this point, especially since the Bruin coaching staff can't comment either. We'll be the first to admit it when we're engaging in speculation, and we're admitting it this time. Of course, we believe it to be true (and we've checked it with two different sources, both of whom are very reliable) so even though we haven't heard from Travon himself since we talked with him in Las Vegas at the Big Time, this is certainly interesting. Not a revelation exactly, but interesting.
