Aerick Sanders Recruiting Update:
"Overwhelming"--(Aug. 5, 1999)
We spoke with Aerick Sanders (6'-10" Sr. F/C) from Gardena Serra this afternoon, and he described his recruiting experience since the end of the open-evaluation period as "overwhelming." A lot of big name schools are after him, and several have already offered full scholarships, including San Diego State and Oregon. He's also received a lot of interest from Florida State, Wyoming, Providence, UNLV and, most recently, from USC. He doesn't think that UCLA will be recruiting him, despite the rumors that we've heard to the contrary depending on what happens with the Nigerian, Makun.
When asked if he would commit early in the fall, or wait until later, Aerick said he hadn't made a decision yet. "My parents and I are talking about it. We haven't really yet weighed all the pros and cons of signing early vs. signing in the spring."
