Michael Dean Holtrey Passes Away--(Aug. 12, 1999)

Jim Downs reported today that Michael Dean Holtrey, former Saddleback College assistant coach and Say No league co-organizer, passed away this week.

We had only gotten to know Mike briefly as one of those coaches who shows up at every local recruiting event, whether it was a Pump Tournament or Discovery Shootout, or one of Dinos' many events.  Michael was always doing something in and around the sport, and was one of the maintstays of the Say No Summer League, the guy who always sent us the e-mail reports containing standings, rosters, and the like, just to save us the time of having to key them in.  Sadly, those e-mails stopped sometime this summer when he reportedly fell ill.

Our condolences to the Holtrey family and all of Michaels friends and basketball family at Saddleback College.
