Palm Springs High Girls' Tournament
This Weekend--(June 17, 1999)

In addition to the Desert City Classic taking place at Cathedral City, College of the Desert, and several other locations (but principally at Cathedral City HS for the finals), there's another tournament taking place in the desert this weekend: The Palm Springs High School Girls' Tournament, which is the first in a series of boys' and girls' tournaments which traditionally take place at PS HS throughout the summer.

The first of 6 summer tournaments at Palm Springs HS gets under way this Friday with a 30 team Girls tournament. The games begin at 12 noon on Friday with the Championship game slated for 4 PM on Sunday. The first round games on Friday are as follows:

        Beaumont vs. TBA
2:00 A.B. Miller vs. Corona Santiago
        Harvard-Westlake vs. San Pasqual
3:00 Burbank vs. Santa Ana
        Norco vs. Palmdale
4:00 Ganesha vs. Marlborough
        Garey vs. Carlsbad
5:00 El Modena vs. Corona Centennial
        Eisenhower vs. Kennedy
6:00 West Hills vs. Hoover
        Santa Clara vs. Murrieta 2

Garfield and Ayala 1 have a first round bye. We won't be out there for this one, but we're sure that several of our readers and regular contributors to the Message Forum will be there, and hopefully they'll report on some of the players, games and the results.
