South Orange County Roundball
Extravaganza This Sunday--(June 1, 1999)

Thanks to Frank Burlison of the Orange County Register,   who continues to write about basketball in the SoCal region during the spring and summer "non-season" months.  Today's column, while mostly about those current college players who, in Frank's opinion, will be the best in the country next seasoon, also featured a small blurb about the South Orange County Roundball Extravaganza.   Here it is:

Some of the better underclassmen in Southern California, including Steve Scoggin, Cedric Bozeman and Jamal Sampson (Mater Dei), Tyson Chandler (Dominguez of Compton), Brennan Martin (Trabuco Hills) and Josh Childress (Mayfair of Lakewood), are scheduled to participate Sunday evening in the second South Orange County Roundball Extravaganza at Laguna Hills High.

Four games will be played, starting with a 5:30 game involving eighth-grade boys. Admission is $10 for adults, $6 for students and $3 for children 12 and younger.
