More Summer Camp & Clinic
Stuff Around SoCal--(June 9, 1999)

We can't possibly provide information about every camp taking place this summer in and around SoCal.  There are literally hundreds of basketball camps taking place throughout the region, in addition to the "big" camps like the adidas Double Pump West Coast All Stars Camps, the Rim Rattler All West Camp, the San Diego Superstars Camp, and the rest that we've already posted.    We've tried to list the ones that we think will provide the best instruction and which are the most competitive, and while we can't vouch for all of them, and we won't pretend to do so, there are more that we hear about every day.  These are just the latest ones we've been asked to pass along, and we're happy to do so:

Encino/Los Angeles:

Milken Community High School will present their summer sports clinic and the Wildcat Basketball Camp.  The camp, which is really a month-long series of two-hour shooting and skills sessions,  will take place Mondays and Wednesdays, from June 28 to July 21 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the brand new Milken Community HS Gym.  The camp is open to players from ages 10 to 18, and will focus on shooting, post moves, fundamentals, defense, system buildups and competitive play.  Coach Michael Whiting, who is in his 20th year of coaching at the high school & college level has directed sports camps for 15 years and he will be personally involved in the camp. Tuition is $200 for the month-long sessions.  For further information or to obtain an enrollment form, contact coach Whiting at (310) 440-3500.
