SoCal Players Attending Majerus'
Utah "Big Man" Camp--(June 24, 1999)

We just got the word that several local players are attending the Rick Majerus Utah "Big Man" camp starting this week and through the weekend.  This is a top-flight, invitation-only camp which will focus mostly on those 150 or so players who should be considered the top recruiting prospects for Utah this summer and through next year.  Among the players attending are two rising seniors, and one rising junior from SoCal.

Aerick Sanders (6'-10" Sr. F/C) from Gardena Serra HS will be attending the camp and as such should be considered a major recruiting target for Utah this summer.  Aerick is pretty thin, but he's got great footwork, runs the floor tremendously well, and is a big time scoring forward player.  He'll need to put on some weight and bulk up at the college level, but he's slowly and steadily improved throughout his high school career, and is currently one of the top forward/post players on the west coast.  Aerick is interested in several west coast schools and we'd expect that after attending the adidas ABCD camp in two weeks that his stock will dramatically rise among many of the top programs.  Aerick is a great student, extremely bright, and he will clearly qualify and be qualified to attend some of the top schools in the country.

Branduinn Fullove (6'-5" Sr. SG/SF)
from Simi Valley HS will attend Rick

Majerus' Utah "Big Man Camp" this week
with Aerick Sanders (6'-10" Sr. PF/C)
and Dustin Villepigue (6'-9" Jr. PF)

Branduinn Fullove (6'-5" Sr. SG) who will soon, in addition to the designation of "shooting guard"  soon also be considered one of the best "small forwards" on the west coast, is also attending the Majerus camp. If you haven't seen Branduinn in a while, well, he's really bulked up (even if he does have the skinniest ankles we've ever seen) and with that extra inch he's acquired during the last year (and he may still be growing) he can play extremely effectively in the paint as well as out on the wings.  Branduinn is a huge scorer, very quick for a guy with his size, and in addition to the Majerus Camp, he'll be attending ABCD in early July, then West Coast All-Stars, and then will rejoin the Pump N Run Gold team for Vegas and the Best of Summer Tournaments.

Finally, another local player who got an invitation to the Majerus Big Man Camp is Dustin Villepigue (6'-9" Jr. PF) from Simi Valley HS, one of the most promising young post players around.

Dustin was a great complement to Rafael Berumen (6'-9" Grad. PF/C) who signed with New Mexico, and like Rafael, he also has pretty good perimeter skills in addition to great footwork and excellent mobility in the post.  Dustin most recently played in Fresno at the Speice Run N' Slam in Indiana and at the adidas EBO/EA Hoop Summit III with the LA Rockfish team featuring Russell Lakey (5'-11" Sr. PG) from Harvard-Westlake, Jacoby Atako (6'-2" Sr. PG) from Santa Monica HS, and quite a few of the top younger players, including Tim Drisdom (6'-2" So. PG) from Calvary Chapel (Downey) Nick Curtis (6’-6" Jr. F) from Oxnard, Anthony Davis (6’-5" Jr. SG) from LA Locke, Jermaine Harper (6’-3" Jr. SG) from St. George, VA/Blue Ridge School, Alex Graham (6’-11" Jr. C) from Redlands, and Rory O’Neil (6’-10" Jr. F/C) from Ridgecrest Burroughs.  It looks like Dustin has switched teams now, and he's slated to be playing in Vegas and at the Best of Summer with Pump N Run Silver team instead of Rockfish, the younger of the two Pump teams, which also features Errick (6'-2" Jr. PG/SG) and Derrick Craven (6'-2" Jr. SG/PG), Jonathan Harper (6'-4" Jr. SG/SF), Markee White (6'-4" Jr. SG/SF), David Gale (5'-11" So. PG), Craig Smith (6'-6" So. F), Evan Burns (6'-7" Jr. F), and Baker Dunleavy (6'-2" Jr. SG).
