Updated Simi Valley Camp
Announcment--(May 25, 1999)
We already posted an announcment about this, but it's worth repeating: The 26th annual Dean Bradshaw Basketball Camp for third- through eighth-graders will offer two one-week summer sessions at Simi Valley High School. Bradshaw, head coach of Simi Valley High's varsity boys basketball team, expects 300 children at the camps June 28 to July 2 and July 5 to 9. The camps will feature an emphasis on individual instruction with a skills evaluation, guest speakers, instructional and motivational films, competition and contests. There will be awards, prizes and trivia, and T-shirts and swim passes. Guest speakers will include Steve Lavin, head coach of the UCLA Bruins men's basketball team; Don McLean of the Seattle Sonics, a former Simi Valley High and UCLA student; and NBA "shot doctor" Dave Hopla. Registration is $75 for one week and $145 for two weeks. Sign-ups are being taken at the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District office and Rancho Simi Recreation Center.
