It's Official: Bradley Jackson Signs
LOI With SDSU--(May 12, 1999)

It was on April 22 that we reported (or repeated what Recruiting USA already knew) that Bradley Jackson (5'-10" Gr. PG) had committed to San Diego State and thus became the second signing for new Aztecs coach Steve Fisher.   But we apparently missed it last week when  Bradley actually sent in his signed and sealed National Letter of Intent.  So it's now official.  And speaking of official, here's the official press release announcing the signing (which was released on May 7, five days ago).  Hey, so we're a little late.  Better late than never.  Here's the press release:

San Diego State mens basketball coach Steve Fisher today [May 7] announced the signing of point guard Bradley Jackson to a national letter of intent.  Jackson played this past season at Bridgton Academy in Bridgton, Maine where he averaged 15 points and six assists. He comes to SDSU as a true freshman and is expected to compete for a starting role at the point this fall.

The 5-10 Jackson is a native of Inglewood, California, who played his prep basketball at South Torrance and Inglewood High Schools. He was recruited by such schools as Western Kentucky, Rutgers and Duquesne, but opted to attend prep school on the east coast during the 1998-99 season.

"Bradley Jackson is a consummate point guard," commented Fisher. "Winning is his primary motivation, and personal stats are secondary. Hes very intelligent, a penetrator and distributor who will feed the open man. His quickness and strength allow him to be an exceptional on-the-ball defender."

Jackson joins 6-6 forward Jim Roban, who inked a letter of intent last week, as Fishers second signing for next season. They will join the two recruits signed by the Aztecs last November: forwards Michael Marion (6-7, Jr., Eastern Utah) and Eric Rowher (6-9, Fr., Burbank HS).
