Bob Gibbons' TOC: Belmont Shore
Beats Illinois Elite--(May 28, 1999)

Dinos Trigonis called us tonight from North Carolina's Bob Gibbons' Tournament  of Champions, where his Belmont Shore team managed to defeat the Illinois Elite team, 68-63 in a tough game at Cameron Indoor Arena.  Belmont Shore features some of the top players in the country, including Travon Bryant (6'-7" Jr. PF) from Long Beach Jordan, Mike Ahmad (6'-9" Sr. C) from Glendora, Jamaal Williams (6'-6" So. PF) from Corona Centennial, Larry Johnson (6'-6" Jr. SG/SF) from Compton Dominguez, Tommie Johnson (6'-4" Jr. SG) from Crenshaw, Ryan Mollins (6'-5" Jr. SG/SF) from Redondo Union, Tito Maddox (6'-4" Sr. PG), and AJ Diggs (5'-8" Jr. PG) from Long Beach St. Anthony's.

Dinos didn't have time during the call for many details, but he did tell us that Travon Bryant scored 23 points and pulled down 15 rebounds, Tito Maddox had 9 assists, and AJ Diggs dished out 4 assists coming in off the bench.

Next up for Belmont Shore is another game tomorrow morning and then the New Orleans Jazz featuring Chris Duhon at 8 p.m. on Saturday night at the Dean Dome.
